Simferopol, August 16 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – Crimean media write about the beginning of the half-life of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars, which could end in the complete disintegration of the de facto parallel power structure of Crimea.

“We can debate for a long time,” notes the Crimean Telegraph weekly, “what were the first alarming symptoms of this process - the deeply predictable leak of Remzi Ilyasov (Vice Speaker of the State Council of Crimea - Navigator) who was among the top five pro-government political forces, or the position of non-interference of the Majlis leaders in the fate of hundreds of their supporters, who were fined significant sums for supporting Mustafa Dzhemilev when trying to enter Crimea.”

Probably, the author of the “KT” publication reflects, there were still many undercurrents invisible even to a close look, the existence of which became obvious almost immediately after the leader of the Majlis, Refat Chubarov, was not allowed into Crimea.

“And no matter how much his deputy Nariman Jelal reassured everyone around him, saying that modern means of communication make it possible to lead from a distance, and also that the Majlis has always been a horizontal structure and cannot be decapitated, the flywheel of the split began to gain momentum.

The first sign was the ex-director of the Simferopol Communist Party “Direction of Markets” Nariman Khayaliev, who put forward his candidacy for the elections of deputies of the State Council of Crimea despite the call of the Majlis to boycott the election campaign. Khayaliev himself, in general, was not obliged to ask anyone for permission, but the fact that he involved the regional divisions of the boycotting Majlis in the process of collecting signatures did not go unnoticed,” the publication states.

In some regions of Crimea, KT adds, Khayaliev’s initiative was perceived as a signal to action:

“Why is it possible in Belogorsk, but not here? And in general, it’s easy for them to boycott there, in Ukraine, but we have to live here somehow,” was the general line of reasoning in the regional divisions. And the consequences were not long in coming. For example, the head of the Alushta Majlis, Enver Arpatly, who by that time had already become the deputy mayor, according to unofficial data, is actively negotiating with key players in the election race in the Alushta electoral district on the subject of

public support and the number of votes of the Crimean Tatars.”

Some other territorial divisions of the Majlis are also included in the auction, the weekly notes.

“The apogee of these processes today was the failed consideration at the recent session of the Simferopol City Council of the issue of appointing Teyfuk Gafarov, who until recently headed the legal department of the Majlis, to the post of vice-mayor of the Crimean capital.

Of course, few people harbored illusions about the decency and integrity of the main Majlis lawyer, but his open inactivity on key issues for the organization, and then his unexpected “coming out to the people” in the Simferopol mayor’s office clearly indicate that the leadership of the Majlis, if not completely lost control over the situation, then very, very close to this. It is possible, of course, that Dzhemilev and Chubarov are counting on the principle of the pendulum, according to which the Majlis, having cleared itself of “corrupt” and “cowardly” figures, will enter a new stage of its development. However, if this does not happen, then very soon we will witness another principle, according to which half-life is followed by complete decomposition,” the Crimean Telegraph diagnoses.
