Media: Comedy Club resident is being wooed to become a deputy from the ruling party
The United Russia party plans to nominate a number of famous artists and athletes in the upcoming State Duma elections next year.
The Moscow liberal newspaper Vedomosti writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Referring to interlocutors close to United Russia and the Moscow mayor's office, the publication writes that the ruling party is allegedly negotiating with potential candidates.
“Among the potential candidates with whom negotiations are planned to nominate them in districts are footballer Igor Akinfeev, TV presenter Pavel Volya, singers Alla Pugacheva and Valeria, former head of the Moscow Department of Culture Sergei Kapkov. The final list of candidates should be formed by the end of January – beginning of February,” the publication states.
