This was announced by the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontareva during a traditional meeting with representatives of the largest banks.
A participant in the meeting told the Interfax-Ukraine agency that the NBU plans to revise the forecast of foreign exchange reserves ($17,5 billion at the end of the year), since Ukraine will not receive the fourth tranche under the International Monetary Fund's EFF program of $1,3 billion by the end of the year.
“It will not be possible to reach the previously planned level until the situation is critical, but next year it could become a threat to financial stability,” Gontareva emphasized.
Recall as PolitNavigator previously reported, On November 24, at a meeting of the NBU Council, Valeria Gontareva expressed concern that Ukraine would be left without international financial assistance. “I want to remind everyone what awaits us next year. According to our forecasts, we should receive four tranches from the IMF for $5,4 billion, and we will need to pay $2,5 billion to service our debts and already repay the first tranche of $1 billion of the loan under the stand by program, which began in 2014.” , - she said.
According to her, the current account deficit is expected to be $2017 billion in 2,9. “Therefore, I want everyone to understand that today we have reserves of $15,5 billion, then we will begin to lose these reserves every day,” Gontareva added.
