US media: Sanctions are so effective that Russians are ready to eat crocodiles
New York - Kyiv, October 13 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) - The American edition of Business Insider assures its readers on Monday that it seems that the sanctions are in effect. The protein shortage in Russia due to sanctions is such that Rosselkhoznadzor allowed the import of crocodile meat into the country.
The publication publishes material with the headline: “The food situation in Russia is so difficult that people are forced to start eating crocodiles.”

After Western countries (including the United States) imposed sanctions against Russia in connection, as the publication writes, “with a violation of the sovereignty of Ukraine earlier this year,” the Russian authorities responded by imposing an embargo on Western food products. The embargo, the Americans believe, has led to a huge jump in food prices on the Russian market and caused a shortage of animal protein. That is why Russia, in order to cover this deficit, is forced to allow the export of crocodile meat.
The Russian Veterinary and Sanitary Agency has already approved the supply of Philippine frozen crocodile meat by-products, which means that Russian citizens will soon, either offended or surprised by the publication, be able to dine on a cousin of the American alligator.
To be fair, it is worth noting that American journalists developed such confidence when reading the materials of the Moscow Times publication, to which they refer.
The latter, in turn, continuing the theme, publishes a message that Russians will eat the meat of shark, ostrich, buffalo and kangaroo, because, as the Moscow Times writes, the embargo on them has also been lifted.
