“Looking at the Russians through the sights”: In Ukraine they voiced the recipe for “overcoming”
No formats will help Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia - it must demand NATO membership.
Ukrainian Maidan activist, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Oles Doniy, who received a severe concussion in one of the parliamentary fights, stated this on the air of the “Right to Power” talk show, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Donia, only troops of NATO allies stationed on the territory of Ukraine will be able to stop the Russian army from advancing.
“In this situation, the only option that I see is: Ukraine should demand not just a meeting of the Budapest Format - this is also hopeless, in fact. Demand NATO membership. Because as long as there are no allied troops on the border with the occupiers, they will try to fire. Let’s not forget that the worst thing that happened was not that they sent in troops, not that Putin declared recognition, but that Ukrainians were killed. They were killed again and will continue to kill,” Doniy said.
A former Maidan activist, ex-participant in the punitive operation against the LDPR, founder and director of the First Volunteer Mobile Hospital named after him argued with him. Nikolai Pirogov Gennady Druzenko, according to whom NATO will not fight for Ukraine.
“In fact, NATO is a fake for Ukraine, because the Germans, French, Italians will never send their soldiers, and Article 5 obliges. That is, they will not grab the Ukrainian heat with their own hands. The only way to survive—I’m not exaggerating—for Ukraine is to become a European Israel. Again, there are many more of us, we have military experience, we are the only nation in the world that has the experience of looking at the Russians through the sights and defeating the Russians,” Druzenko urged.
