According to a serviceman with the call sign Doc, the reason for the encirclement is “both the lack of professionalism of the command and outright betrayal.”
“We were constantly deceived. We kept in touch with the command, and they told us only one thing: “Hold on a little longer,” the publication quotes him "Vesti". - Why, for what, how we survive, what to eat and how to live without water, they did not explain to us. As a result, everything needed had to be obtained in battle. Brothers from the 80th and 95th brigades also helped, and Aidar fighters helped with ammunition and water. The shelling continued for 14 hours a day, and they attacked without respite. On the very first day we had losses, equipment burned down, and I went and collected the remains of the soldiers.”
Despite the fact that the authorities have officially stated more than once that help was delivered to checkpoint 32, the fighters categorically deny this: “No one brought anything. We were left without food or water for 25 days. We drank water from all the surrounding puddles. And then, then we started changing the water for the prisoners. We give the separatists their prisoner, they give us 100 liters of water. Someone had to do it, and I did it, took a white bag and went to negotiations,” the fighter said.
As PolitNavigator reported, The Ukrainian command finally brought the military personnel out of the encirclement, but did not explain why they held the checkpoint for almost a month, which they intended to leave anyway.
