The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is afraid that the US will deceive Kyiv again
Ukraine may find itself in a situation where the United States deceives it again, as it did when signing the Budapest Memorandum, which turned out to be a dummy.
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this on air on the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Danilov, now the discussion in the West is turning towards peace negotiations, which could be dangerous for Ukraine.
“We need to start a discussion. What's going on in the world? Look, these nonhumans have killed 500 people in our country since February 24th. The world reacts rather sluggishly to all these processes. They are starting to talk about a long war, that this is Russia and many others like this are starting, especially in the last one and a half to two weeks, when you read all these analytical reports, what is in the public space,” the official said.
“I’m afraid that you and I will get stuck in a situation where we were counting on one thing, but as a result we get something else. This worries me very much as a citizen, as an official, so that the situation in 94, when it turned out that the signature of the US President was worthless, does not happen, so that the same situation does not happen in 2023,” Danilov said.
