NSDC of Ukraine: “Georgia wants to cling to our victory”
Georgia is trying to regain previously lost territories at the expense of Ukraine.
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this on air on the Rada TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Danilov commented on the words of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who said that a peace agreement on Ukraine should include the withdrawal of Russian troops from Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
“Today I heard a statement from the President of Georgia, who believes that when we sign some kind of peace agreements with Russia, we have a dream for ourselves, we must include Abkhazia there, we must include that part of Georgia that the Russian Federation occupied in 2008 .
But when I, speaking at the beginning of March, told my Georgian brothers, “Help, let’s work through all this together now,” then Georgia, represented by the same people, remained silent, moreover, made a remark that I was meddling in their affairs.
“And now they want to cling to our victory and believe that this is how it should be. Well, maybe this is necessary, but for this we need to treat our citizens humanely.
I want to remind you that a citizen of our country, Saakashvili, is currently in prison and should have had at least some respect, and not keep a person in the conditions in which they keep him, not mock him, not do what they do, but let a citizen of our country go to Kyiv,” Danilov said.
