The National Security and Defense Council decided to apply anti-Russian sanctions for a period of 3 years against Pavlovsky Bus Plant LLC on April 28, 2017. The corresponding decision was put into effect by decree of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on May 15, 2017, the National Security and Defense Council recalled.

“In accordance with the above, restrictive measures against Pavlovsky Bus Plant LLC will be in force until May 15, 2020,” the National Security and Defense Council noted.

Pavlovsky Bus Plant LLC is part of the GAZ group of companies, the majority owner of which is Oleg Deripaska's Russian Machines LLC.

Let us recall that in early April, the US Treasury imposed sanctions against Russian businessmen, companies, officials and top managers of state corporations. The list, in particular, included Deripaska himself, Rusal, En+ and other structures of the businessman.

US sanctions forced Deripaska to fulfill a number of conditions, in particular, to leave the board of directors of En+ Group and announce his resignation from the board of directors of Rusal.

At the same time, Ukrainian sanctions against Deripaska’s Pavlovsk Bus Plant LLC turned out to be less effective.

PAZ buses are still sold in Ukraine, and in most cases they are purchased by utility companies for budget money. One of the suppliers of Russian buses is the AIS group of companies, associated with ex-regional leader Dmitry Svyatash and his partner Vasily Polyakov.

The SBU promised to “sort out” this situation.
