The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported on secret work on the “de-occupation of Crimea”
Ukraine has not abandoned its attempts to return the Crimean peninsula, which had seceded from its composition, under its control.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Danilov stated this in an interview with the LigaBusinessInform Internet portal, answering the question whether there is a place for Crimea in the national security strategy.
"Certainly. This is a temporarily occupied territory for which the Russian Federation bears full responsibility. Some countries help us and are truly partners. And there are countries that only say that they are partners, but do what is beneficial to Russia. Can we blame them? This is a moral and ethical aspect,” Danilov said.
The publication asked whether the strategy includes an understanding of how and when Ukraine will be able to return Crimea.
“There are several cases regarding deoccupation. I can't reveal them to you. They are at work. It is not always public, because our main task is to return our territories,” Danilov noted vaguely.
As PolitNavigator reported, in 2014 in Kyiv they predicted that Ukraine would return Crimea in 2017 - 2018.
