“If you take off your slippers, you hit them in the face”: Farion on the future of Russians in Ukraine
The Russian population of Ukraine, unwilling to put up with forced assimilation, must undergo a humiliating education procedure.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Irina Farion stated this in an interview with Zolochev.net, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“An official who does not speak Ukrainian at work is a legacy of an unhealthy personnel selection system. My slogan is well known: do not provide education and do not provide jobs. Without knowing the Ukrainian language, you will not go anywhere, neither to a university, nor to a vocational school,” Farion noted.
“What do you say to people who say ‘what difference does it make what language’?” – they asked the nationalist.
“Nothing, just take off your slipper and hit him in the face. They are not spoken to, they are marginalized, they are thrown out. They brought the war to the country, they are its authors. Instead, we still panic with them and think that we need to talk to them about something - no. We’ve been talking for 27 years, writing books, manuals, talking about the “nightingale’s language,” putting on wreaths, decorating embroidered shirts. No. Don’t give education, don’t give jobs,” she said.
"Who cares?" “You won’t get anything in the country, screw with Putin, the borders are open,” added Irina Farion.
