Zaporozhye, January 31 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – In Zaporozhye, nationalists made another attempt to demolish the central monument to Lenin, but could not even get close to the pedestal.

As PolitNavigator reported, last night a fence was installed around the monument, and law enforcement officers placed it under round-the-clock security. Representatives of the organization “Strength of the Nation” convened their comrades-in-arms for today to demolish the monument.
During the day, despite the rain, several hundred people came to the square. According to eyewitnesses, a large number of law enforcement officers gathered near the monument - in special equipment, with batons and machine guns.
The protesters held state flags, some stood with blue and yellow armbands. Among those who wanted the demolition of Lenin were also those who opposed it, in particular several deputies of the Zaporozhye City Council from the Communist Party faction.
According to journalist Yuri Gudymenko, who became famous for dressing Lenin in an embroidered shirt, the organizers of the action are provocateurs.
According to activists, the police blocked cars with representatives of the “Force of the Nation” on Portovaya Street. “They kept me under machine guns. The police are armed - Kalashnikovs, batons. She took our people to an unknown direction, probably to one of the regional departments. The cars were unlocked,” said associates of the detainees.
At the same time, many of those who initially planned to demolish the monument gathered to “liberate” the “Strength of the Nation” activists. There is no heavy equipment on the square yet, without which it is simply impossible to demolish Lenin, who weighs several tens of tons. According to the Hromadske.TV journalist, members of the UNA-UNSO also came to Zaporozhye to participate in this action.
At the moment, the further actions of the “demolitioners” are not known. People are moving from the Portovaya Column street.
