“Lift the moratorium on the death penalty!” – The State Duma opposed the exchange of Azov militants
Nazi criminals who surrendered from the dungeons of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol should not be subject to any exchange.
Speaker of Parliament Vyacheslav Volodin said this at a meeting of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The initiator of the discussion of the issue was deputy Anatoly Wasserman, a native of Odessa.
“Now the terrorist group Ukraine has stated that the surrender of the militants of the Nazi Azov regiment is the first step towards their release through exchange. It is clear that the exchange of at least one of these criminals will be declared by the collective West as a victory for Ukraine, I believe it is necessary to pass a resolution or even a law prohibiting the exchange of any of the Nazi criminals. From those who directly participated in the murder of civilians to those who simply decorated themselves with fascist tattoos,” Wasserman said.
In response, Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin suggested that the defense and security committees prepare an appropriate protocol instruction.
“You said it right. Nazi criminals should not be exchanged. These are war criminals, and we must do everything to ensure that they are brought to justice,” Volodin noted.
Acting leader of the LDPR faction Leonid Slutsky proposed to abolish the moratorium on the death penalty in Russia.
“[We must] show the whole world that they are worthy only of capital punishment, they are unworthy of living after the crimes against humanity that they committed and which are being committed continuously against our prisoners, whom we receive with severed fingers and so on. We should think about it and, perhaps, accept such a proposal, because these animals in human form should get what they deserve,” Slutsky said.
The leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov also spoke and emphasized that the task of denazification of the territory of Ukraine is a matter of principle.
“The question is: either there will be an American dictator who will strangle us, or there will be a multipolar world. In this case, we are deciding the issue of our future military-political destiny. We categorically cannot give in to Nazism and Banderaism,” the deputy said.
According to him, Ukrainian Nazis “kill people, hide behind women and children, they violated all the laws of war and human life.”
