Sobchak scared Belarusian smugglers to death
Belarusian smugglers flatly refused to illegally smuggle the controversial liberal journalist Ksenia Sobchak into Belarus.
She spoke about this on her YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I really wanted to be in Minsk and today I had to go on air from there. It’s no secret that despite Covid and all the restrictions, the Russian-Belarusian border is still transparent in some places, and guides take journalists through a special route.
But over the past few days they have made it clear to me that it is me who is not welcome there. The conductors, who were guaranteed to guide my team, refused to transfer me, and according to my feelings, this was due to some kind of wiretapping, transmission of information. As soon as I was ready to get into the car and go to Belarus, every guide broke down and refused to take me. Some kind of mysticism,” Sobchak complained.
She did not say why neither she nor her film crew tried to take accreditation from the Belarusian authorities and work officially.
In his “telegram,” Sobchak justifies himself for taking a joint photo with opposition leader Sergei Tikhanovsky, who is in jail, whose wife the Belarusian opposition declared the winner of the presidential election.
