Sobchak tried to hush up the scandal with “inferior Crimeans” by attacking Navalny’s ally
Presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak caused a scandal in the studio of the liberal radio station “Echo of Moscow” when the head of the “election headquarters” of oppositionist Alexei Navalny, Leonid Volkov, was speaking there.
Sobchak burst into the studio together with the author of films glorifying the Ukrainian punitive forces, Beata Bubenets. The “director” filmed the entire disassembly process, not hesitating to point the camera at the monitor of Volkov’s personal computer.

At this time, Sobchak demanded that Volkov apologize for publishing a photo of a party in Bali on Facebook and mistakenly tagging a woman with the name Sobchak. To be fair, it is worth noting that Navalny’s ally simply posted a message on the Twitter network of Ruslan Shaveddinov, who is also related to the oppositionist’s headquarters.
Volkov, under the pressure of the two brawlers, felt uncomfortable and repeated that he did not answer Lifenews’ questions, hinting that Sobchak was behaving like a tabloid journalist.
A few hours later, the editor-in-chief of Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov, publicly apologized for what happened.
“I regret that the beginning of the program with Leonid Volkov was crumpled. I apologize to those Echo listeners who found this incident inappropriate. “Echo of Moscow is ready to offer a debate between Ksenia Sobchak and Alexei Navalny,” Venediktov wrote in his telegram channel.
Political scientist Alexey Chesnakov believes that the liberal radio station deliberately provoked a scandal in its studio.
“Echo” competently played out the situation with Volkov and Sobchak. “Completely by chance,” people at the center of a public conflict happened to be in neighboring studios at the same time. Now the next move: regret and an invitation to discussion,” Chesnakov wrote.
