Sobchak offered to give Grodno to the Poles
The scandalous Russian TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak commented on the request of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry to Poland to extradite the creators of the NEHTA telegram channel Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich, who coordinate protests in Minsk from Warsaw.
“In exchange for Grodno,” Sobchak wrote in her Telegram channel.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry handed over a note to the Charge d'Affaires of Poland, Martin Wojciechowski, with a copy of the extradition requests sent by the Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus.
“In relation to Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich, as part of a Belarusian criminal case, a preventive measure was applied in the form of detention, they were put on the wanted list,” the Prosecutor General’s Office noted.
The telegram operators were charged with organizing group actions that grossly violated public order and involved clear disobedience to the legal demands of government officials and resulted in disruption of transport, enterprises, institutions and organizations, as well as training and other preparation of persons to participate in such actions; organization of mass riots, accompanied by violence against individuals, pogroms, arson, destruction of property and armed resistance to government officials.
In addition, training and other preparation of persons to participate in mass riots is charged; deliberate actions aimed at inciting social hostility and discord based on a different social affiliation, committed by a group of persons.
Stepan Putilo posted a video message on the Internet in which he called on the Belarusian authorities to “stop disgracing the entire civilized world and claiming that 22-year-old editors are a nightmare for your entire regime.”
In October, the Central District Court of Minsk recognized the NEXTA and NEXTA-Live channels as extremist materials.
