Filaret’s “Council” rejected the tomos and restored the UOC-KP
A local Council was held in Kyiv, where the restoration of the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate was announced.
This was reported in the telegram channel of the Kyiv newspaper Vesti, whose correspondent is present at a closed event in the St. Vladimir Patriarchal Cathedral of Kyiv.
“The Council of Filaret rejected the tomos and restored the UOC-KP. Filaret also turned to President Zelensky for support,” the report notes.
Let us recall that the founder of the UOC-KP Filaret refused to recognize the tomos received from the Patriarch of Constantinople on the creation of the OCU, explaining that this document does not give the Ukrainian Church autocephaly, but only changes one dependence on Moscow to another – on the Greeks.
