Crimeans needed to ban the former resident of Simferopol, boxer Alexander Usik, who moved to Kyiv and competes under the Ukrainian flag, from entering the peninsula back in 2014.

Today this athlete has signed up for the Kyiv defense force and is ready to fight with weapons in his hands against Russian peacekeepers, which also include Crimeans.

Chairman of the Simferopol Public Council Alexander Yuryev stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In 2014, I proposed not to allow Usik into Crimea. They ignored my offer. Moreover, I was told that he is a Crimean and is forced to be a patriot of Ukraine. Now this character will shoot at our soldiers. To the Crimeans. Today this “forced” patriot of Ukraine signed up for the Kyiv terrorist defense. How he and you, who defend him, will look into the eyes of the mothers of the Crimeans who died at his hands,” Yuryev said.
