“In connection with Ukraine’s claims, the Russian Federation declares that it is a responsible party to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and conscientiously complies with its obligations under international law in the maritime spaces adjacent to its coast, including the Crimean Peninsula. In addition, participation in the formation of the arbitration does not prejudice the positions of the Russian Federation regarding any aspects of this case,” Zakharova said.
The arbitration panel included representatives from Russia, Great Britain, Algeria, Mexico and South Korea.
