The collected reserves are not enough for an offensive - Zolotarev
Kyiv has prepared and fully equipped several brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Western equipment, but this is still not enough for a successful large-scale offensive.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the Internet channel “Ukrlife”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Nine to twelve brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been prepared and trained, using equipment produced by NATO countries, and are fully equipped. Such a striking fist of forty to fifty thousand people.
But without aviation, without a reliably covered sky, and at the end of winter, the Russians began to pull aviation into Crimea. And in the conditions of this theater of military operations, the bare steppe, this mass of aviation equipment is very vulnerable. Without a covered sky, it’s not worth the risk,” Zolotarev said.
He emphasized that Ukraine’s collected reserves are only sufficient for good defense.
“At least in the event of a Russian invasion, these nine to twelve brigades are capable of stopping the problem. These are full-fledged, well-equipped teams.
But if we burn them in the offensive, then we take a risk. Yes, you can reach the Crimean Isthmus, losses could reach 30-40% of personnel, and this is a loss of combat effectiveness, with all the ensuing consequences,” the political scientist added.
