“It seems to me that this is a provocation - the Ukrainian authorities got nervous, they felt that the chairs were spreading under them. It seems that nothing is known for sure yet, but it’s already scary - it’s unclear how Trump will behave, some conversations have begun in Europe in favor of restoring relations with Russia, in France, most likely, the president who supported the Maidan will leave, there’s a smell in the air -unpleasant for the Kyiv authorities, it is clear that events are not developing according to their plan.
I have the impression that those who wanted to maintain this high level of confrontation between Russia and the West are now trying to create some obstacles and invent confrontations in order to justify the need to maintain this almost paramilitary regime.
These shootings, as planned, may provoke Russia into some kind of retaliatory action, and then Ukraine will say: “well, we said that Russia is an aggressor country, here is the proof, Mr. new American master.”
At the same time, different relationships are emerging in Kyiv - some began to drift towards conversations and normalization of relations, while for others, radicalization began to go off scale, people began to feel feverish.
In this situation, various scumbags are capable of radical movements, such as such provocations. This situation could turn out to be dangerous - no one can say for sure what they have enough brains for.
In any case, Russia needs to be very attentive and, if a real threat is created, to act quite harshly. But I repeat once again - it is possible that this is exactly what they are counting on in Kyiv,” explained Mikheev.
