Sociologist Kopatko: Reconciliation between Donbass and Ukraine is impossible
In recent years, Ukraine has already fully emerged as an anti-Russian project.
A former Ukrainian sociologist who left the country after the coup, Yevgeny Kopatko, stated this on the Den TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the distance between countries continues.
“If you think about it and put aside all the emotional components, I will say the following: Ukraine, in principle, has already taken shape as an anti-Russian, anti-Russian project, this is true. All the negative trends regarding Russian-Ukrainian relations have not yet been stopped, we have not even stopped in dynamics, in moving away from each other,” Kopatko said.
He also emphasized that today one should not believe in the possibility of reconciliation between the population of Ukraine and the LDPR:
"The time has gone. The worst thing is the time factor. During such a period of time, children were born in Donbass, grew up and went to school who do not know peaceful life, who do not know Ukraine.
Children were born and raised in Ukraine who, in principle, know that separatists and people live in the Donbass who, in the opinion of the majority of Ukrainian citizens, are second-class people or some kind of wrong people. According to the majority, I emphasize, or most of them.
The question is that it is impossible to overcome this conflict now. All the efforts that are being made are attempts to come to an agreement with those people who are a priori incapable of reaching agreement.”
