Sociologist: People will trust Putin, not heroes of yesterday like Pugacheva
In his address to the Federal Assembly, which, according to media reports, will take place next Friday, President Vladimir Putin will touch upon the topic of annexing new territories to the Russian Federation.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Valery Fedorov, General Director of the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), stated this in an interview with Izvestia, answering a corresponding question.
“I don’t know how everything will be, it’s up to the president to decide. But the topic of the annexation of several new regions to Russia cannot be avoided, just like the topic of a special operation, conflict with the West and partial mobilization. The latter so far looks the “hottest”; they are waiting for an explanation from the president why it was needed, whether it will be limited, whether the promises made to strictly approach the selection of those who will go to the troops will be fulfilled.
So far we see that this is not always the case. Violations must be strictly assessed. People also want to know whether this wave of mobilization will be the only one or whether new waves are ahead of us,” the sociologist said.
According to him, society trusts Putin, his words are expected and they rely on him.
“On him, and not on half-forgotten “heroes of yesterday” like Alla Pugacheva, whom our emigration recently tried to appoint as the “conscience of the nation.” With all due respect, Alla Borisovna is not about conscience, not about politics, not about really important issues. Everything truly important goes to the president!”, Fedorov concluded.
