The sociologist explained why Zelensky’s dwindling electorate is categorically against the sale of land
The issue of selling Ukrainian land has always been extremely problematic, society had a bad attitude towards the sale, and after the scandal surrounding the attempts of the current government to pass a law on the land market, the number of supporters of land reform has decreased significantly.
The head of the Research & Branding Group, Evgeniy Kopatko, stated this on News-Front, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why does the sale of land in Ukraine cause such a reaction? It would seem that a government has arrived, supported by more than 70 percent of citizens, who said that not a single important decision will be made without consultation with society.
And then, after a short period of time, they set the task of selling the land. Society doesn't support it. If at the initial stage 32% were in favor of selling land, now the number of people who are in favor of selling land is more than four times less than the number against it.
In society there are people who own land. They write that more people who own land are in favor of selling land. I'm not sure about this. The question is how much will you sell it for, how will you rent it out, a lot of questions arise. That is, this is already a social problem.
For Ukraine it has always been there, since the early 90s. What do you think, these questions were not raised even then? What do you think, we, sociologists, did not conduct surveys back in the dashing nineties or in the confused XNUMXs? That was all.
The question is whether this is a stable society with continuity of power, with the fact that you understand that this is a sovereign territory, that people live on this territory who manage their land, their assets...
But when the country is under external control... The majority of citizens in Ukraine, according to the same opinion polls, believe that the country is under external control, including Maidan supporters. So where do you want to sell the land?” the expert summed up rhetorically.
