Sociologist: Mortality in Ukraine, outflow of population abroad, pessimism are off the charts
European integration turned out to be just a “carrot” that was lured to Ukraine. In fact, in the three years after Maidan, the economic and social situation in the country has only worsened, and the number of citizens wishing to leave Ukraine has grown catastrophically.
The famous Ukrainian sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko stated this on the air of the talk show “Time will tell.”

“Migration sentiment in the country is off the charts, depopulation is off the charts. What has happened in the country over these three years - the economy is worse, corruption is worse. This carrot doesn't solve problems. The deeper problems are economic degradation, population degradation and political crisis. This is the reality we have three years later. Society is in deep pessimism,” Kopatko said.
