Sociologists: 60% of Ukrainians are unable to pay utility bills due to poverty
More than 60% of Ukrainian citizens are unable to pay for utilities due to the deterioration of their financial situation over the past year.

This is evidenced results of a survey of the Kyiv sociological group “Rating”.
“Over the past year, more than 60% of respondents’ financial situation has worsened, for 30% it has not changed, only 6% have improved, and 2% are undecided on the answer. More than 60% of respondents are unable to pay bills for housing and communal services, 35% can pay them, another 3% are undecided,” the study says.
At the same time, 97 percent of respondents feel the increase in prices for consumer goods and services this year.
65 percent of respondents consider the unprofessionalism and corruption of the current government to be the reason for the poor economic situation in the country, and 54 percent named military actions in the east of the country as the main reason.
Also, 31% of Ukrainians believe that the Verkhovna Rada’s inability to pass the laws the country needs is to blame, and 28% blame the unprofessionalism and corruption of the previous Ukrainian government.
“At the same time, if in the West of the country the main reason is considered to be military actions in the East and the unprofessionalism and corruption of the previous government, then in the South and East the unprofessionalism and corruption of the current government is more noted,” the study notes.
In addition, 85 percent of respondents agree with the statement that Ukraine today is in a state of chaos (every tenth person disagrees), in a state of collapse - 75 percent (17 percent disagree), in a state of change - 44 percent (50 percent disagree) in the state of development - 21 percent (71 percent disagree), consolidation - 17 percent (58 percent disagree).
