The results of the latest opinion poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology at the end of May show a collapse in the ratings of absolutely all Ukrainian politicians and political forces.

About it reports the Kyiv magazine “Focus”.

Sociologists have recorded a loss of interest among voters in voting in elections.

“If in March 57% of citizens would go to the presidential elections and 60% to the parliamentary elections, then in May these figures are only 42% and 39%, respectively. 25% categorically refuse to vote, compared to 14% in March. The number of those who either spoil the ballot or cross out all candidates has almost doubled - from 4,6% to 7,8% (according to party lists - from 2,8% to 8,4%). There are more undecided people. This means that the existing model range ceases to at least somewhat attract voters,” the magazine states, analyzing the data of sociologists.

Regionally, the eastern macro-region shows the greatest reluctance to go to the polls. Here, 40% of respondents do not intend to go to the polls, while 22% doubt whether to go to the polling stations, and more than 6% of respondents stated their intention to cross out all candidates and spoil the ballot.

As for the ratings of politicians and political forces, over the past two months they have fallen precipitously.

“What is characteristic is that the Petro Poroshenko Bloc has a frivolous 8%, but other parties have six or less percent of supporters in Ukraine. Among politicians, only Poroshenko is supported by more than ten percent of Ukrainians (Next Tymoshenko has 7,2%), and his support is melting before our eyes,” writes Focus magazine.

A comparison of the results of the May survey with the previous KIIS study conducted in mid-March shows that in a short time the number of people who see some meaning in the figures and parties operating in the political arena of Ukraine has significantly decreased.

“The mass refusal of the population to participate in the elections means a loss of faith in those who promised to correct the situation, having gained the people’s trust just in October last year. Few people will undertake to predict what indicators the parliamentary parties will have on the anniversary of the election. And somehow there are still four years of office ahead. They won’t make it,” the magazine summarizes.
