Sociologists asked Crimeans how they were living in their homeland after Ukraine
The overwhelming majority of Crimeans (88%) would support the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation, 5% would support the status of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea within Ukraine, and 7% found it difficult to answer.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey by VTsIOM, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation is assessed positively by 93% of Crimeans, while 4% of respondents have a negative view of this event.
Assessing the state of Crimea over the years of its being part of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, the absolute majority of residents of the peninsula (89%) express the opinion that Crimea is developing more successfully now that it has become part of the Russian Federation, 2% believe that it has developed more successfully in composition of Ukraine, and 4% believe that neither then nor now Crimea is developing.
The majority of Crimeans (70%) noted that the reunification of Crimea with Russia had a positive impact on their lives and the lives of their families, 16% responded that this event did not affect their lives, and 9% believed that it had a negative impact.
Three quarters of its residents (75%) are satisfied with the state of affairs in the Republic of Crimea, 21% are dissatisfied. The overwhelming majority of respondents (85%) note that over the past seven years the situation in the Republic has improved, only 5% noted a deterioration.
Assessing their capabilities in certain basic areas of life, survey participants give the most positive assessments to the ability to live in conditions of personal safety (85%) and favorable environmental conditions (76%). About half of the respondents note that they have enough opportunities to maintain health (59%), interesting leisure time (55%) and a good education (54%).
