Sociology shows that the South-East of Ukraine is rapidly becoming disillusioned with Zelensky
In the south of Ukraine and the part of Donbass controlled by Kyiv, indicators of the population’s readiness to take part in the early parliamentary elections announced by the new President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky are rapidly falling and are the lowest in the country.
The director of the Social Monitoring Center, Dmitry Dmitruk, said this at the presentation of the results of the sociological study, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Firstly, you see that our readiness to take part in elections in the south of the country has changed very rapidly. If after the second round we recorded the average at 7,7 points in the south of the country, now the lowest is 6,38. That is, the south of the country is gradually cooling down, let’s say, becoming cooler towards the elections and the willingness to vote is decreasing. You also see that Donbass was among the regions in which the willingness to take part in elections was low, both in the establishing study and later, and it remains quite low,” the sociologist noted.
He also added that compared to the presidential elections, and especially the second round, the desire to vote among young people is falling.
“Our youth group 18-29 years old is falling most rapidly. You see that the average score of readiness to take part in elections fell from 7,47 to 6,59. That is, this is already a quite noticeable drop in the willingness to vote among young people. If we said that the second round, we had a high turnout of young people, at the level of the entire population, and these were presidential elections in which young people actively took part, we see that now they are gradually cooling down and the willingness to vote is decreasing,” said specialist.
Let us note that, contrary to promises, Zelensky has not taken concrete steps aimed at resolving the conflict in Donbass. Moreover: he named the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is an enemy and said that Donbass will not receive autonomy.
Also Zelensky asks the US to strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia.
