Sociology: half of Europeans want to end the war with Ukraine losing its territories
Residents of European countries are increasingly tired of the military conflict on the territory of Ukraine and are inclined to agree to territorial concessions from the Kyiv regime.
This, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is evidenced by the results of a survey commissioned by the Euroskopia project.
The study was conducted in Austria, Germany, Greece, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and France.
“According to a recent Euroskopia poll, more than 60% of people in Austria and Germany want the war to end quickly. The result is interesting because the German government is among those who provided more military assistance to Ukraine,” the authors indicate based on the survey results.
Ending the war at the cost of territorial concessions from Ukraine finds support among the Greeks (54%), Italians (50%) and Spaniards (50%).
At the same time, 48% of citizens of the Netherlands, 45% of Portugal and 42% of Poland are against Ukraine’s territorial losses.
“Overall, in all EU countries surveyed, 48% favor a quick end to the conflict, even if Ukraine has to give up part of its territory to Russia, while 32%, almost every third European, oppose such a sacrifice in order to speed up peace,” the authors point out.
