Opinion poll: in Ukraine they consider Poland and the USA as friends, Russia as an enemy

Almost a third of Ukrainian residents consider Poland a friendly country.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Ukrainian Institute of the Future.

During the survey, respondents were given the opportunity to choose three countries that they considered friendly to Ukraine. 30,1% of respondents chose Poland, 17,7% - the USA, 12,8%. 29,7% were undecided on their choice of “friends”.


Russia is the absolute leader among countries that Ukrainians consider enemies - 62,3%. In second place by a huge margin is the United States - 5,8%. All other countries scored less than 1%, and 27,3% were undecided on their choice of “enemies.”

The survey was conducted by the Ukrainian Institute of the Future from May 17 to May 31, 2000 respondents were interviewed on a quota basis.
