Opinion poll: Ukrainians want to “cut off oxygen” to Donbass, waiting until the situation changes in favor of Kyiv

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Ukrainian Institute of the Future.
Only 29,1% of respondents believe in the return of Donbass by force. 14,2% abstained from answering.
Respondents were offered alternative military solutions to the problem.
Most often, respondents chose the option of holding a referendum on recognizing the DPR and LPR as occupied territories, after which Ukraine, without legally renouncing claims to these territories, must suspend social payments and other obligations in relation to their residents. This option was chosen by 25,8% of respondents. 18,2% believe that the LPR and DPR should be given autonomy under the terms of the Minsk agreements. 5,2% are ready for a referendum on recognizing the LPR and DPR as independent states. 15,5% believe that there is no need to do anything, waiting until the situation changes for the better. 20,9% are ready to try to return Donbass by force. 14,4% abstained from answering.
The survey was conducted by the Ukrainian Institute of the Future from May 17 to May 31, 2000 respondents were interviewed on a quota basis.
