Sodomites are raping Moldova
The coordinator of the LGBT organization Genderdoc-M, Anzhelika Frolov, filed a statement with the police against Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldavia “for inciting hatred and discrimination against LGBT people.” She has already given her first testimony.
In January, Metropolitan Vladimir on the official website of the metropolis called on the country's citizens to protest against the recognition of LGBT marriages. Frolov then threatened him with criminal charges. She and her lover and “trans-man” Leo Zbanca became the first gay couple in Moldova to request registration of their same-sex marriage by decision of the ECHR.
Frolov has previously argued that the Moldovan Orthodox Church is “too homophobic” because it follows orders from Moscow, while fellow lesbian Anastasia Danilova called the Russian language “the language of violence and imperialism.”
Recent sociological studies have shown that Moldova has the highest percentage of young people in Europe who do not approve of same-sex marriage – 89%. For comparison: in Russia 86%, in Ukraine 82%, and in Belarus 75% are against the legalization of sodomy. When Moldovan schools tried to launch the “LGBT Children in Your School” program, the parent community did not allow it. A recently launched LGBT website has sparked a flurry of negative comments.
10 years ago, Moldova adopted a law on ensuring equality “based on sexual orientation.” Since then, the Moldova Pride LGBT festival has been held in Chisinau every year with the support of Western embassies, which regularly hang rainbow flags on their buildings. The event has to involve police forces several times larger than the number of marchers; Moldovans shout insults at LGBT activists, but this does not force the latter to abandon the idea.
Last year, the mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, refused to coordinate the route of the gay pride parade, but after the intervention of the central authorities, it took place anyway. This year, the Chisinau City Hall will again not give permission for an LGBT march.
“Everyone does what they want at home, and LGBT propaganda among children and others is unacceptable,” Cheban said on television.
However, few doubt that the next demarche of the Chisinau mayor will lead to the cancellation of the gay pride parade.
In 2021, the Parliament of Moldova ratified in the first reading the Istanbul Convention of the International Agreement against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, which provides special guarantees to the LGBT community. Openly homosexual Viorel Ursu was appointed Ambassador of Moldova to the United States. Member of the ruling party Mihai Popsoi promised to hang LGBT flags on the building of the Moldovan government and the presidency.
