A DPR soldier explained the reason for the increased shelling by the Ukrainian army
The intensification of shelling of the Donbass republics by the Ukrainian Armed Forces has political motives, since the Kyiv military-political leadership needs to promote itself before the upcoming elections and tell how they are fighting the “separatists.”

“We already know each other through and through. We know all the positions, what new ones are being built, where the mines are located. We are those who have stood in our positions for a long time. They rotate periodically, so sometimes, to the detriment of each other, if someone hasn’t paid for the positions, they don’t talk about the minefields, so they end up on their own.
In fact, all this is done for political purposes. What do you want from the generals? How will they receive their rewards? They need to promote themselves, they need to perform in endless programs. So they shoot and talk about how they are “beating the separatists.” They know that they are shooting at the houses of our mothers and children.
