A Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier received four years in prison for killing a civilian in the Donetsk region and wounding another.

It was established that in the fall of 2015, a soldier of a unit stationed in Verkhnetoretsk, Donetsk region, shot one local resident and wounded another in the legs.
It is reported that on September 13, two girls they knew invited the soldier to a christening, where he went with an AKSU-74 assault rifle. Late in the evening one of the girls asked to take her home.
“When they approached the courtyard of the two-story house, the door was wide open. They entered the house together. The girl went up to the second floor to look for her friend, and the guide remained below, in the dark corridor. Suddenly, a fuss was heard at the entrance, the door swung open and a vague silhouette emerged in the darkness. Without thinking twice, the soldier fired a single shot. The bullet hit right in the head. As it turned out later, he killed the partner of a friend of the girl he was seeing off. The soldier disappeared. Soon he was at the christening again and continued the celebration,” the report says.
However, at the table the ATO hero had a quarrel with a local man. Without thinking twice, the Ukrainian soldier shot at his counterpart’s legs. The one who dared to argue with the “patriot” was seriously injured.
