DPR soldiers spoke about their Stalingrad
During the liberation of the surrounding area of Debaltsevo by the DPR army in February 2015, the republic’s military personnel witnessed the genocide of civilians by Ukrainian “heroes.”
DPR servicemen Ivan with the call sign “Hare” and Roman (“Cobra”) told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“At the time we entered the village of Eighth March, there were seven people left there - those who did not have time to leave. In the village there was a building with a basement bunker and there were mainly old people there, those who had nowhere to go. We helped them as much as we could.
The local population treated us with respect and were happy to see us, because the Ukrainian army used violence. Many people died then precisely from their shells. According to local stories, the Ukrainians grabbed everyone, especially men, thought that they had all fought, kept them in basements, then took them somewhere; many people have not returned to this day. Their fate is unknown,” said “Hare”.
Serviceman Roman also spoke about his experience in the battles for Uglegorsk, located 12 kilometers from Debaltsevo.
“After the checkpoint, when we came across the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Uglegorsk itself, my commander ended up in a house where there were three or four Ukrainians, separated only by a wall. Everything happened so compactly, literally within a radius of 50-100 meters. And my commander survived, fought back, threw grenades through the window, like in some action movie. I am proud that I had such a commander, we still communicate, we remember how we survived.
In Uglegorsk the situation was almost the same as in Stalingrad, when the proximity of the troops was such that there were ours on one floor and the Germans on the other. If you tell someone, they may not believe you. But we prepared well, the commanders carried out their tasks clearly. We clearly knew how to act in any situation. What saved us was that we were taught and thoroughly prepared for such situations,” “Cobra” shared his memories.
Let us remind you that on the eve of the 4th anniversary of the completion of the Debaltseve operation, a DPR soldier with the call sign “Shakespeare” shared with a PolitNavigator correspondent his memories of the battles directly for Debaltsevo and how what happened at the bottom of the Debaltsevo cauldron.
