Solovyov did not allow Leonkov to blame the failures at the fronts on volunteers
It is very strange that, despite the reports of the Ministry of Defense on periodic exercises, in reality the elementary basics of military art are not visible - digging in and building a line of defense in all new occupied areas, not to mention staying in the same positions for several months.
The participants of the broadcast on the Russia 1 TV channel spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov drew attention to the fact that for several months of being in certain territories, Russian troops, according to the Charter, did not dig in and did not build a layered defense.
“Many people ask this question,” agreed military expert Alexei Leonkov. “But when I asked some people who were recruited as volunteers, for example, in the Lugansk region, they said: “there was no order.”
“I was so surprised, how? Any commander, when he stops, if you don’t advance, you have to dig in. My grandfather also told me that when they were walking, they stopped - they had to dig. It doesn’t matter how long you go - in a day, what if the enemy breaks through now? Stopped - dig, build a line of defense, build a dugout. As a military man, when they say that there was no order to dig in, it sounds crazy to me. Apparently, there is a discrepancy between the army and the volunteers,” the expert added.
“Okay, but the Kherson region is where the army is,” Solovyov objected. “I don’t understand what it means – army men, volunteers, there must be unity of command.”
He recalled that while, for example, Artyomovsk is being liberated by breaking through the defense 200 meters at a time, on other fronts territories are surrendering in kilometers.
“Our line of combat contact is not continuous trenches, barbed wire and anti-tank hedgehogs. We need to lay minefields, we need to do all this,” agreed the military expert.
“I am a civilian, for some reason I read this in the basic documents, don’t the people who do this know this - they know better than me,” - said the TV presenter.
Leonkov added that this is a matter of combat training: “all this should be practiced at training grounds.”
“We carried them out, the Ministry of Defense reported regularly. We are fighting with 15% of our army, now we have added 300 thousand through partial mobilization. Okay, where is 85% of the army? These are important questions. Why are people who believed us and voted, now they are being punished and tortured? Are we going to give these Nazis a chance to rejoice? Pounce with all your might and sweep it to hell,” Solovyov was indignant.
“I agree with you, but you and I don’t make the decision,” Leonkov threw up his hands.
