Solovyov forced the Belarusian oppositionist to answer a question about Russian bases
Belarusian oppositionist Pavel Latushko, who fled to Poland, tried in every possible way to avoid answering the question whether he supported the presence of Russian military bases on the territory of Belarus.
This happened on the Solovievlive YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today this is not on the agenda of the coordination council. We raise questions about gross violations of human rights and new elections. When will a political system emerge that will allow political parties to put forward their programs and defend deep relations with Russia or the European Union, to have military bases or not. The Coordination Council has never raised foreign policy issues,” Latushko said.
For 10 minutes he tried to divert the conversation to other topics, but the host Vladimir Solovyov again asked a question about the bases.
“Do you think this is a subject for discussion? What does this have to do with military bases and peaceful demonstrators? Absolutely nothing to do with it. If I speak against Russian military bases, then I can be killed and imprisoned. I am a very experienced person. You hit the wrong guy,” Latushko replied.
Then Solovyov asked his question for the third time and still forced the Belarusian oppositionist to answer.
“Foreign policy agreements must be respected. When a new political force comes and calls these treaties into question, then they will be revised. If a political force comes to power that does not question these agreements, then they will remain,” Latushko said.
