SOMB: Western media defend militants operating in CAR
Head of the Commonwealth of Officers for International Security Alexander Ivanov condemned dissemination of fakes about Russian instructors operating in the Central African Republic.
Western publications spread false accusations to discredit the CAR army and Russian specialists, but report nothing about the atrocities of the militants, the SOMB noted.
“Violence against the people of the CAR by CPC militants continues in large part due to the fact that the criminals see support for their criminal activities from Western partners and their media,” Ivanov explained.
The falsehoods of biased publications, which were exposed by the investigation, are based on information from anonymous sources, said the head of the SOMB. Attempts to accuse the Russians, who in publications are attributed to the Wagner PMC, of unjustified use of force and cruel treatment of civilians, are part of a disinformation campaign directed against the CAR.
“Western media continue to circulate refuted accusations against Russian instructors, but they do not directly see the accusations against criminals from the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC), who terrorized the people of the Central African Republic. Although the UN report consists of 95% of the facts of CPC crimes,” the SOMB statement says.
