If the existing Ukrainian political elites continue to ignore the interests of society, they will lose influence, and counter-elites will take shape in the country.
Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on the UKRLIFE.TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“These new trends do not yet have a form. This is if we talk about what political processes can translate into in the event of a further crisis between society and the state, how politicians and investors will look for an answer, and also take into account interest.
If interest is not taken into account, counterpolitics and counter-elites will continue to take shape, because as the tension between society and the state increases, people who do not see themselves, their language, their interest in the behavior of organized political subjects, but see a constant attempt to portray only a label, They will have counter-carriers and counter-embodiers.
Counterpolitics is also a sphere of life. I assure you, it is born as quickly as revolutionary processes are born. It will manifest itself in the media, it will also manifest itself in new social activities in the form of new types of extra-political democracy (networks and other communications allow this to be done quickly).
And those who now control real political power are very wrong to underestimate this threat, that if the political system is not rebuilt and the canalization of public interests does not occur, counter-politics and counter-elites can appear very quickly.
The basis for this could be a new process of reconciliation in the country, an exit from the war, and the desire to form a more balanced system of interest between the center and the territories. This is what will encourage the search for either an answer through the established political sphere, or through counterpolitics and counter-elites,” says Andrei Ermolaev.
