Poroshenko's ally: Meat grinder in Donbass is so that people don’t live like in Belarus
It was not for nothing that the Ukrainian authorities chose a bloody massacre in the Donbass, refusing to compromise on the demands of Donetsk and Lugansk for a second state language and federalization.
This was stated by Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko, writing in her blog about her impressions of the Minsk airport.

“The flight to the Belarusian capital arrives very early. I fell in love with a cafe with good cappuccino. At 8 it’s completely empty, at 9 the hall is already full... And not once, not once have I heard the Belarusian language here. Only Russian. The waiters, visitors, without exception, speak only Russian, and you don’t feel at all that you are in Belarus and not in the Russian Federation.
It is very difficult for Ukraine now; all citizens are paying a very high price for self-determination and independence, for self-identification. But we are on the right path, on our own, conquered and desired by us, both the people and the country.
I feel this so keenly in Belarus. And it’s so scary that we can lose this because of our own thoughtlessness,” Gerashchenko said.
