Poroshenko's comrade-in-arms admitted the complete degradation of state institutions
Kyiv's inability to respond in a timely and adequate manner to crash of a Ukrainian Boeing in Iran demonstrated the incompetence of the authorities.
This was stated during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada conciliation council by the former vice-speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, deputy from European Solidarity Irina Gerashchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The first serious foreign policy challenge facing Ukraine showed the complete degradation of state governance institutions. All the authorities, all the “servants” went on vacation, the people were left to Mendel, who was the only one showing any signs of life on Facebook. When the relevant headquarters needed to work, the security bloc, relevant ministers and the country’s top leadership could not gather for the relevant meetings for several days,” the parliamentarian was indignant.
Also, in her opinion, the reaction of Kyiv, which did take place, was completely inadequate.
“A lot of questions arise - who exactly gave the directives, and who exactly will bear responsibility for the fact that the embassy in its official message completely excluded the version of a terrorist attack, thereby forming an absolutely incorrect position of the Ukrainian side in this tragedy, where Ukrainians died and a Ukrainian plane was shot down . And all this shows complete irresponsibility in key issues for the authorities on security and foreign policy,” Gerashchenko was indignant.
