Changes to the Ukrainian Constitution in terms of so-called “decentralization” are another act of tragedy on a national scale.

Such an opinion said on the air of TV channel 112, the people’s deputy from “Batkivshchyna”, former Crimean Andrei Senchenko, who under Turchinov served as deputy head of the presidential administration.
“There are three components, and all of them are dangerous for the country. The first is the special status of Donbass, which is, in fact, laid down in the Constitution. This nasty thing can remain in the Constitution for a very long time and be a setback for the Ukrainian people, for the state of Ukraine for decades to come.
Second: this Constitution contains an unconstitutional order, an unconstitutional change in the constitutional system. We are talking about the distortion of the structure of the state. There, in veiled terms, a redistribution of powers is laid down, and, in fact, the country is turning into a presidential-parliamentary republic. And the Constitution provides for a change in the political model of the state only through a referendum. They tried to wrap it up in a wrapper called “decentralization” and push it through parliament.
And third: the ideas for decentralization are written out so sloppily that it will simply lead to chaos at all levels of government,” said Andrei Senchenko.
In his opinion, the Constitution cannot be manipulated under someone’s pressure, for the sake of a momentary acute situation.
“In my opinion, society should take such a position that every deputy who, God forbid, votes for these changes to the Constitution and gives one of the 300 votes (and I hope that this will not happen) should simply end up on the national board of shame.” , – says Tymoshenko’s comrade.
According to him, only society through consolidated efforts can prevent this tragedy.
