Tymoshenko's ally suggested recapturing KaZantip from Russia
Kherson, April 03 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Verkhovna Rada deputy from “Batkivshchyna” Alexander Briginets proposed holding the cult festival “KaZantip” in the Kherson region, since, according to the people’s representative, such a cultural event is no longer possible in the Crimea occupied by Russia.

“The public proposes to hold the legendary Kazantip festival in the Kherson region between the villages of Zhelezny Port and Lazurnoe. According to Kherson residents, the weight of this initiative is growing in the current socio-political conditions, given Russia’s temporary occupation of Crimea,” Briginets said on his Facebook page.
“Due to the occupation status of Crimea, not a single self-respecting person will go there. Moreover, almost all flights to Crimea have ceased to exist. Therefore, this popular youth fest, obviously, should be held in another city,” the deputy said, saying that he had already submitted appropriate appeals to the Minister of Culture Yevgeny Nishchuk and the Kherson Regional State Administration.
The initiative of Yulia Tymoshenko’s comrade-in-arms does not seem to be shared by the festival’s management.
At the beginning of the week, a meeting was held between the Russian Minister for Crimean Affairs Oleg Savelyev and the President of the KaZantip Republic Nikita Marshunk, during which the possibility of jointly creating a special economic zone “Real Alternative to Reality” was discussed.
And Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev called the development of KaZantip one of the state priorities, as Marshunok himself wrote on his Facebook page.
