This initiative was made by ex-member of the Verkhovna Rada, nationalist Igor Miroshnichenko on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He was also outraged by the abundance of Hungarian flags on government buildings in Transcarpathia, saying that by turning a blind eye to this, the authorities are legalizing both Russian flags in eastern Ukraine and Romanian ones in Bukovina.
“We must make diplomatic statements, summon ambassadors, issue notes of protest, for example, regarding the distribution of Hungarian passports to Ukrainian citizens, because this is prohibited by Ukrainian law. By identifying facts of dual citizenship, we must harshly deprive Ukrainians or present them with a choice that is already cardinal. Including our citizens... I, while still a deputy of the seventh convocation, understood the threats, including Hungarian separatism, and introduced legislative initiatives, in particular, which related to the ban on the use of national symbols of any other states in state institutions. Today there is no such legislative initiative, it has not been implemented. This means that, for example, in Transcarpathia, we have both Ukrainian and Hungarian flags hanging on all government institutions and social facilities. And this means a quiet creeping occupation. The same principle can be used, for example, in the east, by hanging the flags of the occupying country or Romanian flags in Bukovina. This is unacceptable,” Miroshnichenko said.
