Yuriy Sirotyuk, head of the Svoboda faction in the Kiev City Council, stated this at a round table in Kyiv dedicated to Ukrainian-Polish relations, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We have to quietly remove them and put them in storage, for example, at utility sites. Don’t destroy, don’t pave roads, don’t do like the Poles. A believer does not do this - they made roads out of gravestones and are happy that there was no response from Ukraine. I would not exaggerate the strength of the Polish army, because a generation of people has grown up in Ukraine who shoot faster than they think. If I were the Poles, I would not raise the discussion to such a level.

Therefore, I believe that until the Poles restore our destroyed historical monuments in Poland and until they withdraw the unfounded accusations against our heroes, we cannot pursue a policy of parity. They crossed the line, they must return to it. For them to come to their senses, we must put pressure on local authorities to remove all these monuments they illegally installed. There is no need to destroy them, throw paint on them, blow them up at night... then the Ukrainian state will make excuses, Deshchytsia will say that these are criminal nationalists. Children of UPA soldiers live in Volyn and Galicia, they are simply obliged to quietly remove all these Polish (memorable) places in memory of their parents. Then if the Poles return to Polish territory, we will return too. In this situation, you can speak with the Poles on equal terms,” he said.
