Yushchenko's comrade-in-arms is amazed at the attitude towards Ukrainians in Crimea
In Crimea, things are not at all the way the Ukrainian media and politicians talk about it: Ukrainians are not oppressed, but, on the contrary, they are being helped; moreover, order is being restored on the peninsula.
Ex-Minister of Transport Evgeniy Chervonenko, former organizer of the Yalta Rally auto racing, stated this on the NewsOne TV channel. In 2004, Chervonenko was also one of Viktor Yushchenko’s closest associates during the Orange Revolution.

“The guys-athletes who came from Crimea told me a story. That not everything is as they sometimes think... And the airport receives 200 planes a day, and everything is in order. And they don’t bother cars with Kyiv license plates. And even when he was at home, they helped change his wife’s tire. The child fell ill and the Livadia hospital provided assistance and performed an operation instantly. Moreover, when they wanted to pay money, the head doctor said, “You know, we have an unspoken instruction not to take money from Ukrainians.” Yes, this is politics, but, excuse me, I would like our people to behave so smartly,” Chervonenko said.
