Zelensky’s comrade-in-arms made excuses on American radio for not recognizing the USSR as an “aggressor”
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine failed to vote to recognize the Soviet Union as the culprit of the outbreak of World War II because the majority of the Ukrainian population does not support this.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov stated this on Radio Liberty, funded by the US State Department, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Razumkov, Rada deputies reflect the sentiments of the entire population of Ukraine and if the required number of votes were not found in support of this resolution, it means that public opinion on this matter is ambiguous.
“It was a parliamentary decision, this resolution was not supported. I think that since May 8th and 9th are perceived in society, parliament is, in principle, the territory of the entire state. Sometimes some dates are supported more in certain territories, while others are less accepted. Perhaps parliament also reflects the mood of society; people's deputies made decisions based on their personal position, from the position of the people they represent in parliament. It happened the way it happened,” Razumkov said.
Let us remind you that on May 13, only 75 deputies voted for the draft resolution on the Verkhovna Rada’s appeal to the national parliaments of foreign states on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, which did not allow the document to be adopted.
