American billionaire George Soros, who sponsored both Maidan events in Ukraine, was offended by President Petro Poroshenko. Political scientist Kost Bondarenko said this on air on the Topinform channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the reason for this was Poroshenko’s attempts to become friends with US President Donald Trump, against whom Soros himself is “friends.”

“First of all, due to the fact that Poroshenko, starting last year, began to very actively build a new system of relations with the new US President. And the fact that Poroshenko chose this model of behavior for himself, contrary to what Joe Biden recommended to him in January 2017, Poroshenko began to build relations with Trump, tried to enlist Trump’s support to exactly the same extent that he had from the outside the same Obama. Naturally, this is extremely disliked by Soros, who also spent a lot of money on Ukraine, on the Ukrainian issue, on politicians, including on the Maidan, and so on. It is clear that he extremely does not like what is happening today between official Kiev and official Washington,” Bondarenko said.
