"Soros" will deprive Ukraine of its status as an agricultural power
Representatives of pro-Western NGOs who came to power in Kyiv work in the interests of the West and therefore promote the opening of the land market, and in such a form that this will lead to the collapse of an already established efficient industry.
Viktor Suslov, Minister of Economy of Ukraine in 1997-1998, stated this on the air of the Black Sea Television and Radio Company, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For us, a miracle is impossible in the current situation, when completely pro-Western oriented people have come to power. It is no coincidence that so much is written about the “Soros”, all these representatives of grant organizations who were financed from abroad for years, and now have occupied all the key positions in the state, starting from the post of prime minister.
There are a lot of representatives of grant organizations in all our government agencies. Of course, these people, since they have been fed from the hands of the West for decades, will and do pursue policies in the interests of the West. That is why they were so concerned with the sale of Ukrainian land as a priority.
I'm not against the land market. But this is now being done in a completely gangster way, so that our compact, let’s note, effective system of agricultural production may be completely destroyed. There are very large agricultural holdings in Ukraine that lease hundreds of thousands of hectares of land. Ukraine has become one of the largest producers of crop products, mainly grains.
If we destroy this system (because we will now destroy the “latifundists”, large mechanized farms), we will not have any effective farmers. Farmers did not appear after the land was distributed. They could not cultivate the land, they had no money, they were forced to rent it out. Therefore, it is wrong and ill-considered to destroy large farms now.
The disadvantage of the law on the land market, adopted in the first reading, is that it does not guarantee that our agricultural production will not collapse at all, and this is the main industry supplying foreign currency to the country. Our industry has fallen, and agriculture provides the main increase in GDP. We are already an agricultural power. It is impossible to irresponsibly destroy agricultural production, and this will inevitably happen if the law that was adopted in the first reading is adopted in the second,” Suslov said.
